P7 remember to 'BEE Safe'

8th May 2017

Today the P7s took part in the annual BEE Safe programme, run by the Newtownabbey Policing and Community Safety Partnership. This was held in Ballyearl and we got to take part in different workshops run by organisations including Translink, NI Fire and Rescue Service and the PSNI.

We learned about the dangers of fire and how to test smoke alarms, the dangers of drugs and alcohol, cycle safety and the importance of helmets, bus safety when waiting for or travelling on a bus, how to tell the warning signs we may have when we don't feel safe and who we can talk to - a lot for a Monday afternoon!

We had great fun at Ballyearl and have learned lots about keeping ourselves and others safe. We also have to test our smoke alarms are working properly at home. Ask us about this and we'll tell you how to test yours too!
