As part of our Castles topic, our P2s have been learning about the jobs of people in castles in the past. We learned that castle cooks not only prepared the food but often grew it themselves too.
To bring history to life, we explored home-grown peas and carrots, learning about how food was grown and prepared long ago. We even got hands-on in the role-play area, prepping vegetables just like the castle cooks did!
The best part? Tasting the fresh peas and carrots at the end of the day. A fun and delicious way to learn about history.
