In Primary 2 children continue to learn through practical activities, with pupils enjoying plenty of opportunities for play both inside and outside the classroom. This approach encourages pupils to develop positive attitudes and dispositions to learning from a young age. Pupils’ deepening understanding of phonics allows them to enjoy reading stories and express themselves in writing. Numeracy skills continue to be developed with pupils engaging in fun, hands-on activities that aid understanding of key mathematical concepts.Â
Throughout Primary 2 children enjoy using technology to spark their creativity and enhance their learning. We enjoy using iPads inside and outside the classroom and pupils spend plenty of time throughout the year in our Digital Hub to enhance and consolidate learning across all areas of the curriculum.
Our topic-based approach to learning excites children and fulfils their natural curiosity about the World Around them. To encourage this, we enjoy going on class trips and inviting visitors into our school to talk to the children and answer their many questions!
