Hands on with Measurement
Our P5 pupils have been busy learning all about measuring. From using rulers to tape measures, they’re exploring more about…
Primary 5 is the beginning of Key Stage Two and there are so many new and exciting opportunities for our pupils to develop lifelong skills. In P5 we strive for our students to be independent and to take ownership over their learning. Pupils take on increased responsibility and are encouraged to work as part of a team.
An important focus within Primary 5 is to develop quick and accurate recall of times tables facts. Pupils study a breadth of interesting topics including Ancient Egypt, Eco-Energy and Feathered Friends. Two highlights of the P5 year are Early Man Day and our trip to Belfast Zoo. Children always enjoy reading books by our P5 author, Roald Dahl.
In Primary 5, pupils are given the opportunity to play a musical instrument and participate in the school choir. We work closely with the P6 team to ensure a smooth transition into the upper Key Stage 2 years, while fostering creativity to provide a bespoke and inclusive curriculum for all pupils.
