In Ballyclare Primary School we believe in preparing our pupils for the opportunities and challenges of the 21st Century. As varying forms of educational technology become embedded in society, we at Ballyclare Primary School realise that our pupils must be fully engaged citizens of today who can use technological resources to develop the skills needed to acquire new information and understanding.Â
ICT has the power to enhance many learning experiences and we seek to seamlessly integrate technology across all areas of the curriculum. We teach children how to confidently navigate the digital landscape and harness technology to support their learning. We aim to ensure that pupils develop strong digital literacy skills and that they understand how to use a range of digital tools and platforms responsibly and effectively.
Pupils have access to a range of creative technologies in school and enjoy developing their skills in our Digital Hub or when using iPads, Chromebooks or our new ActivPanels which have been installed in every classroom. They also have access to a number of online learning platforms to support their learning across all areas of learning, including using the Accelerated Reader and IXL programmes in Literacy and Numeracy.
We understand the benefits of technology in enhancing teaching methods and we are committed to empowering and training our staff in the effective use of technology to make learning accessible, purposeful and exciting. Â
