Titanic Belfast Visit

February 28, 2024

Our three Primary 7 classes had a fantastic time visiting the Titanic museum in Belfast.

We enjoyed seeing, hearing and experiencing first hand what it must have been like for all those onboard on the Titanic travelling in various classes and as part of the crew. It was so interesting to learn more about life in Belfast at those times and of the building of the ship commissioned by the White Star Line.

As we walked along the slipway it gave us a first hand perspective on the actual size of the Titanic and her sister ship, imagining ourselves embarking as if we were the original passengers.

Within the museum first hand artefacts and recounts of the those who survived, and those who sadly were lost, including the names of each and every one, gave us much to think about and discuss.

A further highlight was the opportunity to board and explore the SS Nomadic and visualise in our minds those who voyaged on it to access the Titanic.

It was certainly a trip to remember.
